Trad climbing lessons

Hello MP,

I'm planning on going on a climbing trip (with a much more experienced friend who lives in Boston) but I would like to gain some experience in trad climbing before then. Gear placement, anchor building, and topside belaying are at the top of my to-do list, so I can help with leading easier pitches on long multipitch routes when my friend and I go on our trip. I currently sport climb in the 11- to 11 realm.

I'm posting on here in order to ask for help. I live in Albuquerque but I can't find anyone at Stone Age who is willing to offer help with lessons so I came here. I'm willing to travel up to 2hrs and pay for help with learning those techniques above. Need to do this before Dec 17. Also, I don't have a trad rack so much preferred if you have one I can practice with, but I could probably find one if needed. Please help if possible! It would be greatly appreciated and I promise I'm a very easy-going person who enjoys learning.

Thanks,

WL

Have you checked to see if there is any guiding services close by? I am not from your area but it would be something to check.

If you want to drive to Tucson for a weekend or something I'd be down to do some multi pitch practice stuff with you. - J
