Description If you want a thrill, this is it. This is the smallest tower anywhere. One follows nail heads for about 65' up the edge of a steep ridge to the base of the 15' "skinny" tower. A couple of aid moves to reach the summit block (3'X 18"). On the first ascent as Ross stood up on the summit, the whole spire started to sway from its base.... A very quick but careful descent then took place!! Hurry if you want a second ascent. It is advisable not to clip ones rope into any of the nails/piton on the actual tower section as it may cut loose with you on it.
Location See the Mt. Garfield photo. This is located across the canyon from The Fortress and below the other small spire, Bug Eyed Monster.
Protection Tie offs, parachute.
The weird tower up to the left is Bug Eyed Monster...

This is hilarious. 'X' rated because there is serious potential for the entire thing you are climbing to topple with you on it. w00t!

Hey Paul, for those psychotic ones that like this sort of stuff, better do it soon. Went and got the second ascent here a couple days ago. Summit has eroded more. It's about 18" by 18" now. I had to persuade my partner to belay me. I think I'm the psychotic one here. A friggin' thrill! Scary.... My partner said he saw it sway. This thing REALLY won't be here too much longer with the amount of erosion that's already occured in the last couple years and not a pretty scene if it topples over with you on it.... Bring a parachute.

Well done, Noah8000. Never thought anyone would be daft enough to do a second ascent.... Amazed.
