So I just purchased a silent partner and have read through the manual. I'm wondering if you have tips or recommendations on using it and with solo climbing in general. I know I'm going to die, but that's just a consequence of living.
(why it doesn't work as an MP link I don't know...)

The manual recommends the backup knots be cloves to your tie in or belay loop. This puts he loops right by your feet which I hated. On Supertopo a poster named Norwegian shows pics of cloves lined up on a gear loop (not on lockers, I believe the manual recommends this also). The thinking on this setup is that the knot will jam the device in the event of some sort of failure (as opposed to the gear loop saving you; suppose this could work with that safe tech harness).
I tried the Norwegian way and still found it annoying.
Finally, I experimented with a backpack setup with butterfly knots tied as backups periodically (again thinking they act as a backup by jamming the device). This was a little better but it was still a hassle managing the loop since the SP feeds from the bottom.
I borrowed an Edelrid Eddy and did the method that healyje does. I found this to be superior to the SP in terms of convenience.
