This is the premiere climbing area at Coopers Rock - with a bunch of great problems, all concentrated into several clusters; if you're going to Coopers Rock for a weekend, spend it here.

Getting There

From the main gate, the parking is the last parking lot on the right before the split in the road. If you have not been here, its best to drive up to the main parking lot (Roadside Area with a Kiosk), turn around, and park in the first lot on the left (its on the right coming in.) Cross the road and hike past the gate down the double track trail. Continue on the trail til you see a Cairn. Follow the trail down into the area.

Climbing Season

Pocket Problem V6 7A  WV : Coopers Rock State Forest : ... : Tilted Tree Corridor
The crux of this problem is the first move. If you jump to the starting pocket, its more like a V4 or V5. Establish on thin pockets and make a hard move to the obvious pocket. Dig deep, and power through the thin face to the top. CLASSIC...[more]   Browse More Classics in WV
