DescriptionThis is the premiere climbing area at Coopers Rock - with a bunch of great problems, all concentrated into several clusters; if you're going to Coopers Rock for a weekend, spend it here. Getting ThereFrom the main gate, the parking is the last parking lot on the right before the split in the road. If you have not been here, its best to drive up to the main parking lot (Roadside Area with a Kiosk), turn around, and park in the first lot on the left (its on the right coming in.) Cross the road and hike past the gate down the double track trail. Continue on the trail til you see a Cairn. Follow the trail down into the area. Electric Avenue V4- PG13 WV : Coopers Rock State Forest : ... : Electric Avenue Boulder
Classic! A very tall line that follows a beautiful crack up the imposing face of the Electric Avenue boulder. Stand start on some juggy sidepulls in the crack and work your way up until the crack ends. Make a tough transition (crux) into the adjacent crack to the right at about 15' and follow the sweet finger crack to the top...just don't blow it here!...[more] Browse More Classics in WV |
