DescriptionVery much covered in lichen; looks like it's seldom (if ever) climbed. It's home to two routes, each approximately 25 feet tall. The name Thrasher Area is simply quoting part of J. Marc Beverly's description in Jemez Rock. Getting ThereContinue up the trail for approximately 40 feet beyond the 45° Boulder; cliff is on the north side of the creek.

Thrasher Route Right 5.5 NM : Los Alamos & White Rock : ... : Thrasher Area
A low-angled, very lichen-covered face. There's some loose rock and dirt. Would be a decent first lead if it were cleaned up. Quoting J. Marc Beverly in Jemez Rock, "Some thrasher routes exist across and upstream 20 feet from the 45° Boulder; not recommended," hence the name Thrasher Route. If anybody has information on the route-setter/FA and route name, please post to comments....[more] Browse More Classics in NM |
