Was hoping to hike in and climb the regular route this upcoming weekend (dec. 11th-13th).. It will definitely be cold, I am prepared for that, but I'm wondering if any locals know how the snow condition is (and will be). Would love to see that plateau in the winter time... |

A quick visit to NOAA should easily dissuade any idea of this being remotely possible or fun. |

Dana Plateau
Pic is from this morning. Third Pillar is behind the right tree. The route looked clear of snow but the 120 was closed right at the power plant road. That would be a hell of an approach right now! Not any snow down low right now to skin in on. The Cocaine chute on the left is looking pretty damn good though! 2000 foot descent. There wasn't even close to that much snow up there last winter. |
