The Swamp Boulder Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: The Swamp Boulder
A good egg..not so tall, but with a few good lines, especially the overhanging prow Swamper V5..excellent rock quality. The landing is pretty rocky. You will want two pads if you have them or at least one big one and a good spot.
From the end of the cul de sac, take the white blazed trail for about 10 minutes. After the third stream there will be a rocky ridge line in front of you (If you continue on another few hundred feet on the white trail you come to the Long Wall
) Break left off the white trail and pick up an unmarked one that runs along below the ridge (it becomes more defined as you go.) In two or three minutes the unmarked trail starts to climb the ridge. At this point keep an eye down to the left and you should see it about 100 feet away, between the ridge and a small swamp. birdseye map

The left angling seam. Stand start with your right hand on the sloper at its beginning, left hand in the pod. Follow the seam out left to the angling jug of Swamper. Top out. This is slightly contrived in that you avoid the holds above the seam until you get to the prow jug. Everything below the seam is on. Harder than it looks, as the feet aren't so good. The sit down start will add considerable difficulty, but needs a couple more rocks removed at the base....[more] Browse More Classics in Rhode Island
