This is a big Dakota Sandstone boulder with a small roof running around the bottom of it. This rock is sharp but solid for the most part. The stone quality isn't spectacular; there are still some hollow flakes and other features that can come off in your hand. The landing is flat all the way around. There is a walkoff on the back side.
There is only once face that is worth climbing, so the problems are organized from left to right according to the west face, of the boulder.
At the bottom of the area facing up hill, this is the biggest boulder on the left. The small roof lining the bottom of the boulder is fairly obvious.

Start compressing the arete with your left on a good crimp and your right in a slopey dish/pinch. Lunge for a right crimp, then bring your left across to a good sloper. Reset your feet, and find a way to get your left out wide. Crunch your feet up so you can stand up to higher crimps and top out.The fun of this problem is the footwork; the feet are either tenuous or not there till you can get high enough to stand on the face....[more] Browse More Classics in CO
