The Area

Just after passing The Y Crack, the trail splits into two. One trail bears left taking one towards The Prowe Area and the summit, while to the immediate right it drops down to the base of this great collection of routes at The Roof Area. Although these routes have been and will be lead, most folks TR them. To set them up, one hikes up at the aforementioned left in the trail, or continue past the Roof Area below and scramble up the other side.

Getting There

Main Trail via the Y crack, heading right and down.

The Roof 5.10d 6b+ 21 VII+ E3 5b  CA : San Diego County : ... : The Roof Area
This ascends the obvious roof crack via a cave. The crux is reaching up with the right hand and reaching for a "sliding pinky slot." From this reasonably good hold, one pulls the feet up and finishes off via lieback move or two. Thrilling route. Highly recommended...[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
