Description Suggest change

This route is the oldest and the best in AB's Boulder area. If you also happen to be "the oldest and the best", you can get a little help from a trusty tree at the top of the route and nobody will give you grief for it.

Stand start on the left side of the southeast face of AB's Boulder and climb straight up solid edges and jugs to the lip. It gets a little scary just before the top as the holds stop being quite so positive. The top edge is full of jugs, though, so the most difficult part of the top out is avoiding the branches.

Location Suggest change

Left side of the open southeastern face of AB's boulder. Start holds shown in pictures. Down climb the back of the boulder, following the tree all the way to the ground.

Protection Suggest change

Pads, spotters. You can set up a top rope with the tree as an anchor. The tree isn't rooted in the rock - it actually grows from the ground behind the boulder.
