The Needle is a 200 foot tall formation just below Stump Buttress. There are three routes. A 5.7, a 5.8 and a 10+, all high in quality.

Getting There

Follow the approach for Hole in the Wall. Walk down canyon and until the obvious, 300 foot cliff is apparent on the right (Stump Buttress). Start hiking up the talus field towards this formation. The Needle is hard to see from the valley floor, but once you're a little ways up the tauls field, it's quite obvious.... It's just below the Stump Buttress formation.

P2: Either climb the well-protected roof (5.8) or go around right to the southeast side of The Needle (5.7). En...[more]   Browse More Classics in CO
