The Lost Wall from the trail.

Description

As the title of this wall states, it is a fairly secluded area on the southern-most end of the Constellation trail. It is an East to West wall so the North face is almost always in the shade and the South in the sun, it lies at the base of surrounding hills that give it shade earlier then normal in the afternoon.
The Lost Wall has mixed trad climbs up a steep face on the oh-so-lovable granite crimps and seams, all routes will take you to the top and end at bolted rappel anchors.
This awesome wall, and its neighboring formations, have plenty of untapped potential to nab a few new routes. Get on it!

Getting There

Park off the 89 across from the Phippen Museum, by a steel gate and a small opening in the fence. Follow the trail as it meanders through washes and over hills for about 20-30 mins. There are plenty of trail markers and maps to help guide you along.

Edit: Now park at the trailhead parking located across the street AT the Phippen Museum for access.

We developed the routes on this wall several years ago before the constellation trail system was built. Back then it was an overland approach and the wall was truly "Lost". Chris H. respectfully named the trail after the wall. Many routes have been done in the area and will appear in the Granite Dells Guide that I am putting together with Bill Cramer. Note that like many routes in the dells gear is required often between bolts. Bolts are 3/8" x 3". Be careful and have fun. If you have questions you can contact me direct. kevininprescott@yahoo.com
