The start

Description

The lost and found is a series of scattered cliff lines and boulders some bigger than others. There is a lot of potential here for bouldering and some shorter rope climbing.

Getting There

Park at the south shore parking area. From there head towards the railroad tracks. Follow the railroad tracks until you reach the Railroad Amphitheater. Just to the north of the Amphitheater is a trail leading up to towards the Waterfall wall and Turret take that to the top of all the cliffs. You should now see a boulder field in front of you. Hike through the the boulders and into the trees behind it. Once in the trees look up and to your left you should see the first of the cliff lines.

Cowboy Up V4 PG13  WI : Devil's Lake : ... : Whaler's Rock
Start down and left in the corridor, bust a mantle, then trend right above the poor landing, encountering a scary delicate crux right at the top that would maybe really suck to botch... awesome climb. You can step off if you feel scared. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in WI

Lot's of problems to do around here of all grades. Some hard ones are waiting, some nice moderates too.. Safe ones, proud high balls, etc... People just have to get out here and do them. There are gems just waiting to be picked. Nice spot.

Ian, nice work breathing some new life into this area. I did some bouldering in there back around 2000 and always was surprised that it was over looked. I think we called one part of the area the neck oil wall, but names don't matter, just that folks are out crankin'.
I think I will take a stroll out here this weekend with nice temps coming. Hit me up if you guys are heading out. Also check out the classic problem leisure kings(V4-V5) on the turret and the barnyard boulder(V2-V3) across from the turret(south approx 100ft), old school classics that nobody climbs. I'll try to get some pics up soon.
Awesome work man! Keep it up.

I climbed back here a lot in the 90s. I definitely did the arete that Remo is pictured on as well as the Awning and several other problems. Great to see you guys getting after it!
