Marc-Andre cruising up and down the crack for phot...

Description

At the left end of the crag where the rock veers away from the highway towards the quarry is this short overhanging cliffband. With swirly, featured gneiss rock and a pleasant forested setting, this area offers a pleasing complement to the sloughside boulders on the right side.

Getting There

Park at the quarry and walk east 200m along the highway to where the rock roadcut begins. Follow a short trail into the forest.

Marc-Andre setting up for the dyno on the Traverse in the Woods

Traverse in the Woods V3  International : Canada : ... : The Left Side
Start at the far right end of the right-hand side of the crag where the angle changes from slabby to vertical with hands on a large and usually chalked hold. Traverse left along the base of the crag relatively easily until a blank section near the left arete (with an old broken-off piton behind one hold) can be solved statically with a high traverse on crimps or a long sideways dyno to a jug. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in International
