Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closure
Details
The USFS issued a temporary closure due to nesting peregrine falcons. The closure should last from April through July. For more info, see fs.usda.gov/alerts/whitemou…
Description
The second wall to the right from where the approach trail meets the crags - A hundred feet or so right, past and back a little from the Gravity wall, is a licheny, just off vertical cliff, 45 to 70 feet tall, with a half dozen George Hurley trad routes. He, Rick Wilcox, Ed Webster and Joe Hayes put them up in 1995 and they currently look to need a good cleaning. They would probably be nice if that was done. grades 5.8 to 10b.
Getting There
When the approach trail meets the cliff line, head right, under the Gravity wall with its obvious chimneys leading up to roofs at mid height. Continue right, dropping down a little and around a treed buttress and then up the hill a hundred feet to reach Jurassic. There are gullies that angle up and left on each side of the crag. The left one takes you above Gravity Wall and the right along under the Zonkers wall, above Jurassic and eventually up to the Playground.
