turkey rocks
Going on an expedition or big backcountry trip?

FREE- Freeze dried meals. Most are backpackers pantry. Most are past the expiration date but I seriously doubt there is anything wrong with using them. They're still gonna taste like shit!

Anyhow, I've got roughly a dozen or so. Just wanted to see if anyone wants them before they get tossed.

Local pickup only- Boulder, CO.

Cheers,

EDIT: Supermoccs are gone.
Five Ten Supermoccs in size 10. If you can PayPal me $10 for shipping or pick up local in Grand Junction, CO these are yours. The rubber is torn in on the left shoe, but they can most likely be resoled. The hole is not all the way through the shoe. The right one is in better shape but could still use a resole.

I'm starting to build my trad and ice rack. I'm trying to wean off of friend's gear and onto my own stuff so anything to beef of the climbing rack would be awesome! Ben Anderson

I'm a little confused. You want to use less of you're friends gear, so your asking for mine?

I apologize, I must have mis-understood. For some reason I was under the impression this was a free gear thread (kind of like what it is titled). Reading a number of previous posts on this very thread similar to my same scenario instilled a sense of confidence that my mine was a socially acceptable request to post. However, I am more in the market for any assistance, whether it be people people making offers or even just information steering me in the right direction as to how one might go about finding gear within a more meager budget. As far as using your gear, if you are making an offer then yes I would be open to figuring something out. Trying to paint me as a gear leech only reflects poorly on yourself, especially when you can't even use your words correctly. However, if you were simply trying to make a joke then I did find it kind of funny...if you must know. Ben Anderson

On the dudes shoes above:

Just to re-enforce your thoughts.

Shoes are for sure in good enough shape for a resole.

Ben, that was a great reply! The grammar nazi part was cherry on top. Kudos!

Ben - I could pass some biners and two off-brand (but safe!) cams along your way. Probably some stoppers too. PM me. Austin Baird

I don't understand how you begging for free gear, and me pointing that out, makes me look bad.

tit for tat
I wrote "you're" when I should have written "your". Well played my friend. Sadly the issue of spelling and grammar is a red herring to the real issue.
This thread is a "Free Gear" thread. This means if someone has some gear they want to give away for free, post it here. Unless of course I'm mistaken. (If I am mistaken, I am totally willing to publicly admit that I was wrong by the way.)
If it is acceptable to request free gear on this thread then count me in!

I'm working on building up my 3rd rack of cams. I prefer metolius and make sure the are this years model. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I may want to get back into Big Wall climbing again so if anyone has a BD Cliff Cabana Deluxe (Double model) with Fly they want to part with, I would gladly take it. I will even pay for shipping.

I'm simply directing the surplus that is being openly offered, here on a free gear page, to the need of a teenage climber who has worked his butt off for what little gear he has. In contrast, you're hounding for an opportunity to mock or argue with someone. That's what I meant by reflecting poorly upon yourself. Finding something better to do with your time beside mocking someone online might be worth considering. Please, keep your problems to yourself. That's all. Ben Anderson

That's all I needed to hear. Makes total sense now. I'm good.

In the spirit of keeping this thread on topic, I've been storing this Backpack in my gear room for way too long. I've used it twice. I won it in a climbing comp back in 2002 +or-. It closely resembles this one pictured. It will fit a small to medium torso. I'm not sure its volume, but it will hold a rack and a rope. It would be great for an overnight-er. (30 liter maybe). I understand this isn't the most ideal way to shop for a backpack, but its free. Shoot me a PM.

I think the bad grammar comment may have been directed at my post, which I have since taken down. I support what Kevin said.
Back to the thread. Got two omega biners and some insoles out of my BD AT boots. If you say please ill cover the shipping.
UPDATE: biners are gone. These really uncomfortable insoles need a new home.

Hey Dan,
What size street shoe would most likely be ideal for these moc's? I assume they size similarly to the standard moc, making these appropriate for someone with a size 12 street shoe roughly? Thanks!

Rope!
For FREEE!!!!

According to a reliable friend it was bought ten years ago as a spare, never used, and given to me about a year ago. I'd wager it's a 10.2, not sure on brand. No frays, soft/hard spots, discolorations etc. it was kept in a rope bag for its long, dull life. Too thick and a little stiff for my leading purposes, would make a great gym/ t.r rope... or if you're not into the whole climbing on a free rope thing, whatever may suit your fancy. I've fallen on it T.R enough to know that it catches well and has a lot more climbing life. Send a P.M my way and I'll send pics if you're interested. I'd trade shipping costs for any condition J-tree or Red Rock guide book or really any nifty little surprise.

Also have an old ATC belay device in good shape. Also don't need it. Also free.

this is addicting... ALSO have an old L.L Bean summer sleeping bag. Fits the average 6' person. Well used, but still on the house!

  • * sleeping bag GONE, looks like the rope's on its way out too... thanks gang!

  • ** WOO! It's all gone!

I can give you a few rigid friends, bunch of biners and a few CAMP tri-cams. All used and fallen on, but still safe (well, I still use 'em). The only thing is that you'd have to figure out how to get this stuff from here (NYC) to wherever you are.
