Description

The First Boulders consist of the boulders at the very bottom of the boulderfield. These will be the first boulders you come to as you're hiking up the stream. Though not necessarily a destination, this is a great place to warm up before heading higher on the hill. Also, if your time is short, it's a good place to get a quick workout without committing to a longer hike.

Getting There

Walk up the stream. About three quarters of the way up to the Yellowjacket Boulder, you'll see the Stream Boulder on your left, with its classic First Impressions problem. Up behind the Stream Boulder, you'll see the Log Boulder.

Kayte midway on her fantastic Logarithm problem.

Logarithm V1 5  NH : Waterville Valley : ... : Log Boulder
The best line on the boulder, Logarithm is a must-do for the area. It's also destined to become a popular warmup given its friendly holds, flowing sequences, and convenient location. Begin down and to the left with your left hand on an edge under a little steepish wall. Work up and right, eventually gaining the left-facing corner/fin. Continue up this feature to the top. It's possible to start farther right, but this lessens the number of moves and the quality of the problem. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in NH
