Description Suggest change

The Elemental wall is similar to other Redstein area rock. ItÂ’s composed of red sandstone with cobbles. The wall is a short hike in from the road and offers a diversity of grades. There is potential for a lot more routes in this zone. It has potential for a convenient after work crag.

Climbs include diverse features including cracks, chimneys, overhanging jugs, cobbles, and sloppers. The wall gets a lot of morning sun. The views of Mt. Sopris and the Crystal River Valley are excellent.

Getting There Suggest change

From City Market Parking Lot in Carbondale, CO, drive towards Redstone, CO south on CO Hwy 133. There will be a large gully on the right at mile 13.6. This is the approach gully. Make your way up the gully for about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on the left for cairns that lead into the woods.

A trail leads up and left to the Finstein Boulder. The Finestein Boulder, has almost a dozen well chalked problems. Continue to the right of the boulder up steep, dirt slope to trail that leads left through the woods. The approach after the boulder generally follows the base of the cliff band.

The Elemental Wall is defined by a couple dihedral system that lead up to a large roof. To the left of the wall is a tower that looks like The Cobra (did) in the Fischer Towers. The approach is about 10 minutes from the road once you know it.
