Jen Hoffman leading "The Egg" on a nice March day ...

Description

An excellent route and great introduction to the sport routes at the CCC! An interesting move or two off the ground to easier climbing to a great arete. The arete can be climbed directly, on the left (a bit easier) or on the right. But take it straight on and mount the arete.

A scrawled-on rock at the base of the climb lists this climb as 5.10a but it's more like a nice 5.9.

Location

This is likely the first route you'll see when you arrive at the CCC. It's at the top of the approach trail. But the question remains--Which came first? The Chicken or The Egg? You better go and find out!

Nice sustained 5.9 sport climb. Well bolted. Fun moves. Do it.

A good warmup for Coxcomb that is conveniently located at the EXACT spot where the trail reaches the crag... Sweet.
