Description 

South West facing, this small slab gets lots of sun which makes it especially nice in the winter. It also gets a fair amount of wind being higher up on the ridge. The slab portion is pocked with divots, perhaps the result of some gun-happy local. As with most Pena Blanca cliffs, beware loose rock.


Getting There 

The Crown is easily seen from the Garden as the prominent slab wall near the top of the ridge. Hike past El Diablo and continue all the way to the top.

2 bolts provide a top-rope anchor for the left side of the slab. To reach these bolts though, one must lead up the crack/corner to the left. The climbing isn't hard, maybe 5.7, but the rock quality is definitely suspect. There are a number of thin cracks which will take nuts and small cams, but test them out carefully, as some appear fragile. Once the anchor is reached, top-roping the slab is quite enjoyable.
