Description

East-facing, steep, but not overhanging limestone. Few pockets, but lots of small crimpers and other irregularities.

There are two sections next to each other. A taller face on the north (or right) with one bolted route, and a shorter face uphill on the south (or left) with four bolted routes.

Note that the wall is on the west side of an avalanche gully. Not a good idea to go up there when there is any danger of snow coming down.

This is an oblique, aerial view.

Getting There

Walk up the canyon to the second bridge (a pipe also crosses the stream just downstream of the bridge). After crossing the bridge, look right and notice bolts on the rock. This is Hidden Wall.

Continue past Hidden Wall, also passing a single-track trail that leaves the main trail to the right (this trail leads to the base of The Balcony). Another 50 feet or so and there is a rocky drainage slope that meets the main trail on the right. Turn off the main trail here and hike up the scree and watercourse, staying to the right. A few hundred feet up on the right is The Cooler.

Right up the left side of the tallest slab at the cooler. Relatively moderate but technical climbing leads to a really thin upper slab. The crimps are there but they are really small. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in UT
