Description

The Boardwalk is a large ledge located left of the main part of the Shooting Gallery. This is a popular spot for an introduction to the Aretes and has it's two easiest routes. Unlike the main Shooting Gallery it is a wide, comfortable platform with trees. It is also dog friendly.

Getting There

Follow the left fork in the trail just as you get to the cliffs. Traverse left along dirt and ledges and follow the fixed ropes up the slope. At the top of the upper rope follow a trail right to The Board Walk.

Girly Man (pronounced with a Governator accent as in "U duuu naaught drive z Huuummah? u are juist ah Gerliie Maan") starts on vertical terrain and up through a slight bulge on largish sloping holds. After clipping the first bolt work your way straight up to the second bolt (crux). Pass the second bolt just to the right, to a no hands rest before stepping up into an interesting fluted section and the third bolt. Stem up the flutes to an amazing deep jug. Clip the fourth bolt and finish with a co...[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
