In search of the best knee bars on natural rock. They can be of the vertical or horizontal type. They can be on sport or trad routes. They should offer a rest on a sustained route. I discovered an amazing knee bar on the West Face - Bell Buttress and would like to find some more.

To learn what a horizontal knee bar is or to view my post on the West Face check out: mountainproject.com/v/color…

I wanna say either Lake City, Pine, or Buena are the best places I've been knee'd at a bar; boulder chicks are just too soft

This may not be what you're looking for but it's a beautiful knee bar:

On Wisdom, the bouldering problem at Morrison, there is an excellent horizontal double knee bar opportunity. It lets your rest and chalk up just before the slightly painful crux move.

The problem itself is approx. 30 ft(horizontal, inverted) or longer, so you may find it enjoyable if you're ever up there. Good luck!

Buff, unless you are Kevin Bloody Wilson, you can't use his lines in bars or you will get knee'd in the (knackers). (google it you'll get it).

I always liked the knee bar rest on Monkey Traverse, especially on hot days like today to chalk up. I found they are totally dependent on leg length so don't put too much trust in reviews from others, I have seen folks totally get spent trying to get the rest rather than just move past it.

I also seem to remember something similar on Country Club Crack, though it may have been more of a leg jam than a true knee bar.

All kinds of crazy knee bars to choose from at Rifle...sometimes even on the same route

+1 for the Monkey Traverse on Flagstaff

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
