DescriptionThis boulder was named when Dave Asscherick did the FA of Anomaly (V5) and he felt it was unlike anything else at Baldy. It's steep and hosts two very powerful problems, Sit Down and Be Counted (V8) and the Pugilist (V7) as well as Anomaly and a few easier lines. Getting ThereThis boulder is on the northwest side of Baldy, I believe (going on Dan's directions). When you first reach Baldy, this boulder is just up and to the left, where it is tucked up against the main formation of Mt. Baldy. It is just uphill and south of the Melon Patch boulders. From the trail you will first see the slabby backside of the boulder, but go to the side facing Baldy and you will reach these excellent problems. Giving directions to boulders is hard. This awesome problem climbs the steep face to the left of Sit Down and Be Counted. It's the farthest left problem on the boulder. Start standing up matched in a good slot about shoulder height. Work your way up to a big, flat crystal/edge utilizing tiny crimps and body tension. Once you have the big crystal with your right hand, commit to the big cross-through and top out.
