Climber on, "Say No to Jimi"

Description

Great limestone sport climbing right on a river with 30+ climbs currently and room for hundreds more, not to mention some fantastic bouldering as well. Solid 12mm or 1/2in bolts on all sport routes. Climbs range from 5.easy to 5.12+. Taller than most Texas limestone areas. Crag receives morning sun and afternoon shade. Nice and secluded when no summer campers are around. Chances are you'll be the only sport-climbers around other than the staff.

The river is cold and swimming-pool-clear, with kayaks available. The Camp is very well known and popular in the Texas mountain bike racing community, as well as the adventure race crowd.

Check www.campeagle.org for access details, maps, and to download a climbing guidebook. Typically free for day-use. Fees for overnight camping.

Getting There

Visit the Camp Eagle website for maps and driving directions. Within 2-3 hours of San Antonio and Austin.
