Description

Very high quality rock, hidden in the trees, with some very classic lines. The Roadside Wall has mostly traditional climbs, with some sport climbs sprinkled in for the 5.12 climber. Roadside Wall is cool in the summer. Someone please add information about the Upper Passes please.

Getting There

From Chattanooga, take 27 north across the Tennessee River. After about a mile, exit onto 127 north, and follow it to the base of Signal Mountain. Turn left on Suck Creek Road (27 west), and follow it for four miles, cross a bridge, and continue up the canyon.

There are two places to climb at Suck Creek: 1) Upper Passes and 2) Roadside Wall. The pulloff for the Upper Passes is on the right about a mile from the bridge. Hike across the creek to the base of the cliff; the routes lie to the left of the landslide. The Roadside Wall is about 1.5 miles past the bridge and there is an obvious pulloff on the right. Scramble across the creek and to the cliff base.
