New Zealand's answer to Thailand's famous beachsid...

Description

A small crag on the eastern shores of the Coromandel Peninsular. Idyllic beach setting. Some say its a choss pile, others consider it awesome. The rock is rhyolite, with the weathered white/grey sections being choss and the orange/yellow sections being solid. Most of the climbing is trad leading, with little opportunity to set top ropes. There is also some bouldering.

Getting There

10km north of Whangamata. See www.freeclimb.co.nz for more details.
