O.O really? Dear lord and I thought Gradstones felt like hiking boots...
Interesting that so many people are claiming these are a stiff shoe. Maybe they have changed them since I bought mine (I got them within a month or two after they first came out). Mine are seriously about as stiff as the Hueco, anasazi velcro, random beginner shoe. They also have a very flexible area midfoot where the sole is the narrowest (i.e. under your arch) which makes them not as comfy on heel-toe style wide cracks as they could be, my Acopa JBs are miles more rigid from heel to toe.
Hi, I wonder if anyone of you having problem with your big toe when wearing the 5.10 Grandstone for more than 6 pitch. Such as pain because the nail on the big toes are pushed against the toe box of the shoe?
Bang, i leave my grandstones on all day when im at seneca, thats usually 4 pitches of climbing, scrambling to the summit, and then doing 3 raps in them, all without problem. i've also worn them on 9 pitches straight (not at seneca obviously) with no pain at all in the big toe area, if theyre sized properly they shouldnt have any problem. i love them to death and will be resoling as well as buying probably 2 more pair (1 downsized 1/2 a size and the other the same size as my street shoes)
overall im very pleased with the overall durability, as well as the climbing ability of these shoes. buy them, you wont regret it.
