Isnt that the same video that has been out for years and years of the bear being tranquilized, falling out of the tree onto a trampoline, then bouncing and landing on its head in the grass???

Or is there a new one out now?

New shot, and just under the bear manning the crashpad is Rick Hatfield, a great guy and a Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks ranger, and one of the Flatirons Climbing Council's liaisons at OSMP. So next time you see him out in the field, thank him not only for helping us keep new routes going up in the Flatirons, but also for spotting bears! Pinklebear

yeah, just saw this tranq'd bear belly flop onto the crash pad from the tree. 10 sec. blurb on local Chicago news tonight....guess the story is a few days old? Woodchuck ATC

Pretty fun video of the whipper at the bottom of this page: dailycamera.com/cu-news/ci_204...? I give the bear and A for keeping his grip for so long.

I give the rangers a B- on their spotting technique :) Hands up, thumbs in fellas!

In an unpublished interview after the incident the bear said that he was just trying to get a FFA (first furry ascent) of a new 5.tree. He then expressed much disbelief about getting shot at while climbing. If only he'd logged onto Mountain Project! Clearly, once bears find out about MP we'll soon have to read another thread about the right to bear arms.

Yes, for those keeping score I think every joke (if you want to call 'em that) was recycled from other MP threads.
