Rock Climbing Photo: Hello
90% sure it is not. Way too warm still. Wait till daily highs are in 30s or something similar. I heard even Lee Vining is not in shape...would love to find out from someone who has been there though. SirTobyThe3rd

It has been quite warm and devoid of snow up there. Yesterday afternoon I was in South Lake Tahoe and temps were in the mid-40's and it was devoid of snow in town. Things may begin to form after this next set of storms expected through the area, however, your best bet for early ice is on the Eastside... Weston L

Go out and EXPLORE! There IS ice in the Tahoe region, you just need to find it. I was on ice in Desolation Nov 9th of this year. Cold Stream Canyon is currently THIN but manageable for a solo. Less than 1" thick in places. Water running behind it by 0900 and ice crashing to the ground by 1030. If the projected weather remains the same for later this week, the conditions should be ok for this weekend. Josh Hutch
