I've heard good reviews of Super Rupair

I've used them for 16 years. Great place.

Damn pepperoni

This might be useless coming from a NY'er, but I went to the Grease Monkey in Boulder to get an oil change on my Subaru and they were amazing...super friendly and pointed out something wrong with my car.

They suggested going to a place that specializes in Subaru/Honda repairs and maintenance, which was right down the road. We went over there, and he told me not to worry about the part (car has 174 k miles on it, not a crucial part.) The man I spoke with had an air of evil-genius, but I prefer taking the 'Ru to places that know or specialize in them...they're kinda complicated. Plus he was very honest and did not try to solicit business when it was not necessary for the car.

AAND I just realized that place is called Super Rupair...ha. Another vote for them.

I have used this shop before ....

www.japaneseautosvc.com/

The owners son used to live next to me and I've been mountain biking with the son Ross and the owner Steve. They run a great shop too!

Hoshi Motors in Boulder has been great to my outback. They only have one Subaru guy, though, so it's sometimes hard to get an appointment. "It's so popular nobody goes there anymore"

Happy customers here, Buddy knows his stuff. He has been our Subaru mechanic for decades.

I fix Subarus- what kind of problems are you having? I also like Super Rupair, but if your problem is something I fix I'm $20/hr cheaper.

Fuji Motors gives me big discounts for paying in cash and they do fantastic work. They even let me scour online suppliers for the parts I need so I don't get raped by the local suppliers.

Ouch! For the turbo I'd definitely recommend Super Rupair, for the Tranny, call TTS at (303)541-9964

Super Rupair gets my vote. They have always hooked me up. They fix the problem and they don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. They also have a great selection of used parts that can help make your repair as cheap as possible. IF you don't want used parts they have new ones too. I also have used Flatirons Subaru. That is where I bought my subie. My buddies uncle is a mechanic there and he hooks me up after hours. I wouldn't recommend them if you don't have a hook up though, cuz they are pretty pricy and they always try and tack on some extra stuff that isn't necessary. Good luck with that turbo problem!

True. And that reminds me.

Do not, (I repeat) DO NOT trust the sub dealer in Longmont. Crooks try to get you to do stuff that is NOT needed. IE telling me I needed brakes and rotors because they were way down... I had brand new ones already.
If that were the first time/first person such a thing happened to, I'd think it was a mistake, But it wasn't.

definitely agree with tony's comment on the subaru dealership in longmont - straight up crooks. avoid them like the plague.

Summit auto is hands down the best subaru repair shop in the Denver area, and Mike is a climber too :)

I work for a small subaru shop here in nj. Would be happy to help a fellow subie guy/climber. Advice is free and i will let you know what you should really be paying. Can also get parts shipped out to you if need be.

Www.azpinstalls.com is our website

Peter, while you're checking out this thread, I had a couple rocks blown into my Subie on I-70 this past winter that left two small marks that got below the paint level (~1-1.5 cm each). Where is the best place to get those spots repainted and coated (or do you do stuff like that)?

Thanks,

David

The only body work I do is emergency collision mitigation (pull out the front end, replace radiator and headlights, etc.). I don't know much about the body shops around here, but Denver usually features lower rates than Boulder... good luck!

Paint/dent/body work?
A place called 'Auto Body and Paint' on S Broadway in Denver has excellent cash/direct pay rates (no insurance hassles) and does very good work for everything I've ever taken in there. J.D. used to be the owner. Call in and ask for JD and if he's still running it, get a cash-quote there.
