Description

A fun crimp fest up a steep face. The first top out was... ungraceful.

Location

On the approach trail, head up the stream bed where the trail crosses over it. Pretty close to the trail is an attractive boulder. Belly Flop is the arete angled at you as you approach.

Protection

1-2 pads

Jon,
Are you claiming this as a recent first ascent? This boulder has been climbed on for at least 10 years. I don't think you will find many new FA's under V6 anywhere in the Upper west Bolton area. There is a clandestine guide book dating back to 2001 that documents ~60 problems in this area.
The boulder you're talking about is known as Stream Boulder and has 3 problems on it:
Streamside Arete V0 left side of the arete
Streamside Dyno V3-dyno from quartz on the arete to a horn
Stream Side V2/3

If you found another line on this boulder that would be great, but it sounds like what you did is known as Stream Side Arete.

I would bet that your Huecos Rancheros problem is the same story but can't be sure without more specifics.

Enjoy your explorations, but know that many of the rocks that are now covered in moss and ferns were climbed many times during the the first term of Bush Jr.

Cool, thanks for the historical beta.
