Description
Shady with partial sun, these boulders are ideal for those hot days if you have literally nothing better to do. Spaced along a hike to a scenic view or a mountain top lake, they're ideal if you want to get some short easy problems in before swimming. Within minutes, sometimes even seconds, of the trail and the road, they are easily accessible for almost anyone. The rock is similar to that of the Gunks with horizontal crack systems and a few large vertical crack systems. Mostly a local spot with few established boulders, this is not a "drive for hours" (or even a "drive for 30 min) destination.
Getting There
Directions given from "The Rock" (a local graffiti/announcement wall)
Take Westbrook Road over the reservoir and turn left, continuing on Westbrook. Take the first right onto Magee Rd and then the first left onto Burnt Meadow Rd. Take the second left onto Crescent Dr. About 200 yds down the road to the right you will see a yellow trail head with a prominent boulder. This is the start to the trail & boulder area. Pull a little farther down the road and pull off to the side.
