US Military (limited access) MORE INFO >>>

Description

Stanley Canyon offers a myriad of possibilities of bouldering, short sport lines and some traditional lines. The area is very undeveloped largely due to the fact that access is only gained through the Academy. There are a few unknown projects bolted. If you have any more information on the area or routes, please post. Area description in work...scoping the crag again this weekend.

Getting There

From I-25, take the exit for the South Entrance to the Academy (if you don't have a military ID to show the gate guard, you will need to show them a driver's license). From the South Gate, go 4.5 miles and turn left on Academy Dr. Go another 2.5 miles and turn left on Pine Dr. About 500 yards further you will see a prominent dirt road to the right, drive up the dirt road as far as you can to the trailhead for Stanley Canyon. Park anywhere here, please remember that this is a military installation and this is a heavily used trail system...be courteous. Take the Stanley Canyon trail up west into the canyon, the hike is about a mile on a prominent but strenuous trail.
