Description Suggest change

Standing Stones is unusual for a high moorland crag in having a short walk-in (about 10 minutes) that is actually downhill. It is more or less south-facing so can be climbable on good days even in winter or early spring. The rock appears quarried in places, though the cliff was mainly formed by a landslip.

Getting There Suggest change

The nearest parking is near the high point of the A635 Holmfirth road. Head directly across the moor (no decent tracks), slightly downhill, aiming for the left end of the crag on opposite side of the valley (Ravenstones).
