While browsing the location pages for the little bits of ice we have smeared around the Twin Cities, I noticed there wasn't any mention of the current state of access for the St. Paul areas (Homer's, Brickyards, etc).
Effective last season (though who knows what this winter will bring), the city stopped issuing ice climbing permits, basically closing the areas to climbing:
CURRENTLY WE ARE NOT PERMITTING ICE CLIMBING for the 2013/2014 SEASON. Please check this page for future updates. Updated 10/31/2013
I presume this is due to the fatal landslide that happened in those parts last year, leading to concerns about the stability of the bluffs. The Brickyards in particular have been closed for any access (not just climbing) since the slide.
Anyway, I think it would be worthwhile to note the effective closure on the location pages for the affected areas. The areas already have the notices for the permits, just not the current state of that permitting system.
