| I was climbing at the ice cream parlor saturday and got on a line that I could not find in the guide book and I think isn't on MP.com. It starts about 45' right of Hot Karl Sunday, climbs a bunch of questionable rock, 50' of 5.6 or so with gear, then tackles an arching left facing corner with 3 bolts and finishes at a 2 bolt anchor. That 2nd part is really hard and I had to pull on the bolt to get through: the face is uber-slick and you're slapping this blunt arete right hand with no feet and nothing for your left hand. Once you get established above the 1st bolt and clip the 2nd there are a couple more hard balancy moves to the chains.
You can see the corner on this picture, it's all the way to the right partially in the sun: http://www.mountainproject.com/v/utah/moab_area/kane_springs>>>>> Anybody knows what this climb is? | |
