the flake on the start of the crux pitch of Jah Man. Its hollow and flexes. It seems like that feature is crucial in maintaining the difficulty of the pitch. So here's the question...

Reinforce It -or- Let it break and see how it affects the pitch?

I figure it is a topic worth discussing, I personally have no preference either way

I'm so glad he spelled it right.

That flake has been loose forever. I was reluctant to touch it when I climbed it 2 years ago but it held. :-)

If it breaks, it breaks....that's the nature of the beast when it comes to sandstone climbing. Some climbs get harder over time, and some get easier. Left alone is much preferred over questionable attempts to reinforce using epoxy or other, potentially unsightly methods.

Reinforcing holds has absolutely no place on desert towers.
