me and my climbing buddy are gonna be in hurricane on the 15th of this month, and we're looking forward to some different territory/rock to boulder on. we have limited experience bouldering outdoors, but we sport climb a lot. we do a v4 ish in the gym... so we're looking for anything from a v0 to v5. any recommendations? thanks :)

Drop down to St. George and check out Moe's Valley.

Kiamaire - you'll find the highest concentration of bouldering in the St.George, Pioneer park is really close and user friendly. But if you are in Hurricane and only have limited time you can get in a few quality problems. Cross the bridge going from Hurricane to La Verkin and take a right (when heading from south to north) onto 300 South and if you drive to the very end (far east) of that road you'll come to an obvious trail head. (if it isn't at 300 S then it is 200 S, but I am pretty sure it is 300) You'll be at the "La Verkin Overlook" trail head, fun little trail too. Hike up trail and boulder on the first obvious cliff band...bit of a high baller but I found some nice V2 problems there and then higher up on the trail is a super fun basalt boulder field with a number of boulder problems. A bouldering pad is highly recommended but obviously not 100% necessary - nothing is necessary for bouldering.

This first cliff band is visible from the road, the boulder field is not visible from the road. - Super fun time too is to find the tight squeezes and spelunking fun that is under the boulder field - This is the time of the year to go too...not to hot, not to cold.

If your up for a big hike, if you follow Ash creek, when you get about a mile - mile and a half north of the Touquerville cemetery - there is some good problems down by the river. Access is an issue. If you get in with some Touqerville locals they can show you were there is a super fun, high quality 99 step-steep staircase that can take you down to the bottom of Ash Creek from the rim. - Access issues though...keep a heads up.
