Me leading railroad tracks at the creek.

So I've been staring at the March picture in the Alpinist calender all month and just thought that it was a great looking route that I would love to climb. I wanted to find some more info on the route and looked it up. To my surprise, the route described on MP didn't match the Alpinist photo at all. In fact it looked like it was on the opposite side of the formation. So I dug a little deeper and pulled out Bjornstad's guide book for the national parks. According to his book, it looks like Cedar is climbing the West Face route, not Speak No Evil. What the Heck!! Which route is actually being shown? The West Face or Speak No Evil.

I noticed the same thing. The route they show Cedar on (and the topo picture) is definitely The West Face, 5.11 which was freed in the early 80s by Glen Randall and Jeff Achey. Bring RPs for the crux!

Kay,

I think you're right... West facing, setting sun!

I have the same calendar in my work cube.

Thanks.

John
