I'm currently here in our nation's capital, having attended the inauguration of our new president this morning. I'm planning to work my way back to Austin, TX over the next week or so, and hopefully get some bouldering in along the way. I have two pads and no partners. My plans are loose, but I do plan to swing by Rome, Georgia to visit some family. I understand Rocktown is near there and features some excellent pullin'. Do the boulders there see much sun?

Which areas are most conducive to cold weather bouldering in the Carolinas, Georgia, and/or Alabama?

Also, is there another website where the southern rockclimbers congregate here on the internet?

Thanks,
Will McDonald

if you're headed to georgia via dc, you'll likely travel through nc. nc has lots of bouldering thats in the sun. rumbling bald, asheboro, stone mt, and lost cove are some of the best options in this weather. rome is close to fort payne alabama and chattanooga tenn; both of those locations are surrounded by good bouldering.
