| You'll be about 2 hrs. from what is, based on my not so limited experience, the best crag in the country - the Tennessee Wall. However, you don't want to go there in the summer. Wait until fall. You may be able to hit Sunset in Chattanooga during the summer. It's decent.
For the summer, your best bet would be to take a long weekend and head to NC (more like 4+ hrs.), where the temperatures are more tolerable due to the elevation (the East has a wet, not dry, adiabatic lapse rate, so being 4000 ft. above sea level means something). Try Looking Glass (especially the N. Side), Shortoff Mtn. and Whitesides. | |
