The new valley access trail to Jamestown (AL) is now open. The old upper trail is permanently closed, don't use it. For directions to the new trail, check the Jamestown section here.

By the way, Jamestown is not a bad spot for summer climbing. The trail is well shaded, and the rock (especially in the Winter Wall section) is in shadow most of the afternoon. Some friends and I had the place to ourselves on the Fourth and got in some great leads.
