Thats funny, I guess you can find something to whine and bitch about were ever you go.

Damn Mike, that is harsh to lump Texas in with the south, they have their own special club of haters. Plus ol' W. was born in New Haven, CT. Not exactly a southern boy, but he does play the part well with his Wyoming side kick. I guess we will have to claim the other two.....

Yeah, we had Gary "I dare you to follow me!" Hart. I find it incredible that W's dad may have been the best of the bunch.

And, son, I'm afraid Texas rolled with the Stars and Bars back in the day. They're yours ;)

Don't I know it man... this semester has wreaked havoc on my TWall trips. Oh well, only two more weeks then SUMMER! Every weekend, I check the weather down there, and it's ALWAYS nicer than the forecast here this time of year. I consider going down for like 2 seconds before I remember the insurmountable work load of a student taking 18 credits to graduate in May. Definitely regret that decision... You guys have got it great down there. I think Chattanooga's one of the best climber hub cities in the country!

While we're in the realm of literature, how about other famous sons (and daughters) of the South: Flannery O'Connor, Tennessee Williams, Tom Wolfe (both of them), Robert Penn Warren, Tom Robbins, Barry Hannah, Tom Robbins and the all-time demigods of literature William Faulkner and Cormac McCarthy! Probably the rest of the country COMBINED will never top that!

Hangin out on the Sun Wall apron at Looking Glass

Hmmm...three days ago would be friday (night I'm guessing) in Birmingham and you were a bit less than sober when this was started, eh Ben ?

Aside from the obvious stellar craggin, let's go ahead and add in the big scary stuff....Whitesides.....Laurel F'in Knob.....Yeah c'mon. And the less scary, but more pristine, Linville George. (yes, we're aware you have this stuff out west too, but we're gonna hold ours in equally high regard.......because we can).

And I would certainly be remiss in not mentioning the "purdiest" lil backwoods waitresses ever to sling burritos in your favorite less than authentic mexican restaurant convenient to the out of the way crag of your choice. I seriously can't believe my partner from Alabama left that part out.

And then there's the big chip we wear on our shoulders cause we're still pissed over the War of Northern Aggression.
Stars and Bars forever.......Yee F'Kin Haw! ;)

You forgot ticks and chiggers, Atlanta traffic, and Southern Baptists. Did anyone mention T-Wall, Shortoff, the Red, Reel Cove, Looking Glass and Shuford's? (I'm kidding)

I would have stayed if there were more granite cracks back there because I can't stand the bad drivers and whiney people (probably not natives) out here.

Paul - eerrrrummm, yeah, Friday night. And yeah, I usually have a few beers in me by the time I plant my arse on the couch...you know me too well.

Ben - I'll take ticks and chiggers over AMS and frostbite...you're welcome back any time.

bbrock - Your first point could be true. Your second is undeniable...bbbrrrrppp, brrrrpppp...
