My fiance and I are planning a trip to the Red River Gorge over the Easter weekend and were hoping to rent a cabin. We have two dogs we'd like to bring and don't want to camp. We're also looking for something around $75 a night (we figure it's the off-season, so this might be feasible, but the holiday might offset this).

If you have any information or experiences with this, we'd appreciate it. I've been looking on-line at what's available, but there aren't many reviews.

It's our last weekend together before I move to Utah for the summer, so we're trying to get some good climbing in. Thanks in advance.

When living in Ohio, I never stayed at these places but the following I hear are nice. I don't know if any allow dogs. I recommend asking this question on www.redriverclimbing.com because people on this website really know RRG. This website also has a great online climbing guide.

Torrent Falls B&B - Advantage is that people that stay at the B&B can climb Torrent Falls (closed to the public). www.torrentfalls.com

Thanks for the help. We have a reservation at Lago Linda Hideaway in Beattyville. Now all we need is good weather (the weather service is calling for rain). Keep your fingers crossed.

Don't worry too much about rain...there are cliffs throughout the RRG that will stay dry in a downpour.

Ha ha ha.

For what it's worth, I found the X-tremely overhanging nature of Red River Gorge routes quite the ass kicker. And routes are very tall there to boot. If you find the same thing, perhaps check out the Bruise Brothers wall as it is less steep and tall. But don't let this dissuade you from jumping on something nutty with draws pre-clipped. Plenty of routes like that and what could be easier to bail off of?
