I am moving to OC from Anchorage, AK. in early august I like trad, sport, bouldering. I will be climbing pretty much full time and would like to avoid the heat. I would like to go to Clark mountain, the needles, red rocks Malibu, j tree, stony point, idllywild, Yosemite and anywhere else that is not hot.

SoCal eh? There are a couple 'formal' organizations in the area.
1. Southern California Alpine Club - some kind of off-shoot of the Sierra Club. The website is rockclimbing.com seriously, they must have aquired that URL back in like '85.
2. Allied Climbers of San Diego - ACSD - alliedclimbers.org younger crowd that works tirelessly with Access Fund and alot of the people with ACSD really get at it up in the Sierras, Taquitz, J-Tree, Clark, etc. rad crew.

surprisingly, there are lots of strong climbers down here in San Diego. Give a holler when you get down here and we'll see about getting you a grand tour.
