| Is the last week of March too early for Tahquitz? Idyllwild reports averages in the high 50s that time of year, but how does that translate to climbing conditions? Thanks. Mike | |

| climbed at suicide yesterday. Sunshine face was fine. Although, it looked like there was a little to much snow at the base of Tahquitz to climb. | |

| Not too sure what Tahquitz will be looking like the last week of March, but if you do plan on heading out there, make sure to check out http://www.climbingweather.com for the 6-day forecast. ClimbingWeather.com gathers weather data from the National Weather Service and organizes it for climbing areas, so you get the weather where you want it. It is by latitude and longitude, not just nearest town, so the forecasts are more accurate.

| Mike, The climbing can be great anytime of the year. My rule of thumb, for winter-spring climbing at Taquitz is to listen to the traffic reports in the morning. KNX 1070 am.....or any other If there is heavy fog in the Riverside, Chino Hills or other IE spots GO. The fog is a good sign of very calm conditions. When it is calm and sunny it gets hot very quickly and the climbing on the south faces can be quite nice even in December, March etc. | |
