Reaching on "Erica's Arete" in the Rock
Maze.

Description

"Erica's Arete" is well into the Rock Maze and stands over a downed tree with the roots placed perfectly for being impaled. But, with a little work, the route is easily protected (i.e. pad covering the exposed roots).

Start under the arete on nice jugs and work directly over the arete line. Use small pockets and perfect foot placements to reach up and left to a tiny edge. Beautiful line.

Protection

One or two pads, and a spotter.

I knew this problem as Erica's Arete back in 1994, first done by Pat Fleming and Dave Ascherrik.
