At the top of Crystal Shard

Description

This is a cool little spire that is at the top of the middle Marker. Nice exposure and fun face moves pulling on little finger tip quartz crystals. Steep, sustained and airy... just wish it was longer.

Protection

Just clip the first bolt and you'll be fine. Three bolts total with chains at the top

Getting there: Take the path to the right side of the climber register and head up hill with the Middle Marker on your right side. Go pass Star Dancer to the top of the hill and make a sharp right. Head toward a narrow gully and take that to the top(class 3). At the top you'll see the climb on your left.

This climb was a blast. Maybe not quite 3 stars since it is so short but the moves on it are really fun. If you're really brave, try Teenage Mutant Ninja Crystals (5.12***)on the SE side of this spire.

There are two short routes starting from this side. I believe the one described above is the one on the right arete (looking towards the drop off. The other one is about 5.10c and climbs the left side.
