This rock is an overhanging protrusion of sandstone standing near the Western entrance of the (now burned down) Meat Packing Plant along Rapid Creek, to the West of Executive Golf Course.
Settler's Rock is good for pulling down on some interesting, and sometimes manufactured, pockets and edges. It is a place to workout when time is limited. However, with time, this rock has seen a lot of traffic, and even some hold destruction/construction has take place.
Getting There
On Omaha Street, turn North onto 12th Street and follow this road around to the left until it runs East to West. Park on the East-West running street leading to the Eastern entrance of the charred Meat Packing Plant. Walk in a South-West direction to the river's edge along the fence then follow the well-worn trail West along the fence until it comes to a somewhat paved opening. Settler's Rock (a.k.a., Vegan Rock or Vegan Boulder) is to the right of the old, yellow brick building.
